How to setup a hotspot on Android
- Open Settings:
- Find and tap the Settings app on your home screen or in your app drawer. It usually looks like a gear icon.
- Go to Network & Internet:
- Scroll down and tap on Network & Internet. This section might also be called Connections or Wireless & Networks depending on your device.
- Select Hotspot & Tethering:
- Look for and tap on Hotspot & Tethering. This option might be under More or Advanced settings.
- Turn on Wi-Fi Hotspot:
- Tap on Wi-Fi Hotspot (or Mobile Hotspot). Then, toggle the switch to turn it on.
- Configure Your Hotspot:
- Tap on Set up Wi-Fi Hotspot (or Configure Hotspot). Here, you can:
- Network Name (SSID): Enter a name for your hotspot.
- Password: Create a password to secure your hotspot. Make sure it's something you can remember but hard for others to guess.
- Security: Ensure it’s set to WPA2 for better security.
- Tap on Set up Wi-Fi Hotspot (or Configure Hotspot). Here, you can:
- Save and Connect:
- After configuring, tap Save. Your hotspot is now active.
- On the device you want to connect, go to its Wi-Fi settings, find your hotspot name, enter the password, and connect.
