Twin Waters VIEW Club
About
Currently, the Club sponsors ten Smith Family Learning for Life students and is actively involved in fundraising activities to raise donations for The Smith Family programs.
We are a dynamic club of approximately 100 members who actively fundraise to support our 10 sponsored Learning for Life students who are currently enrolled in secondary school and university. We are proud to also support hundreds of disadvantaged students each year by raising funds that are donated to The Smith Family educational program initiatives, and by providing hundreds of backpacks filled with stationery items for distribution to local families in need at Christmastime. The Twin Waters VIEW Club are a fun group who enjoy delicious meals at our monthly luncheon meetings that are held at The Loose Goose Restaurant. At each meeting we have an interesting guest speaker and raise funds from raffle prizes and book and jam stalls. Our members are very welcoming and our club has been the platform in forming many long and lasting friendships. We strive to make everyone who attend our meetings leave feeling positive and happy.
We are always open to new members, so please get in touch today and come and see what it's all about.

April Luncheon Meeting
In a sea of bunny ears and beautiful bonnets, Easter was well on the way to being celebrated at Twin Waters VIEW Club April luncheon meeting. The decorating team had put together a stunning display — tables carpeted with painted eggs nestled amongst straw and tucked into bunny shaped napkins, a bunny centrepiece that Peter Rabbit would have been proud of and an Easter shop packed with goodies.
We welcome new members to our Club. We meet for lunch on the 2nd Thursday of each month at The Loose Goose Restaurant, Ocean Drive, Twin Waters, 11am for 11.30am start. Please contact Doreen on 0415 695 921 or email twinwatersviewclub@gmail.com.

Guest Speaker for April Luncheon Meeting
Gillian, from BreastScreen Queensland, joined us as our April Guest Speaker and provided us with valuable information on screening and self-examination.

Gallentine’s Day themed 2025 AGM
The VIXENS, our own craft and theming group, surprised us all with a veranda beautifully decorated in red and white for Gallentine’s Day. Galentine's Day is a global holiday that celebrates women's friendship and is marked as February 13th, which it just happened to be. Galentine's Day events are all-female occasions of mutual empowerment...a reminder for women to support and uplift one another. And that is exactly what we do at TWVC.
Red and white hearts adorned the tables on white tree branches and napkin holders while others bobbed away on string strung between the posts that were wound with red and white streamers, and behind the lectern. It was a sight to behold.

AGM – First Lunch Meeting for 2025
We certainly had a dramatic start to our meeting as the skies opened with a torrential downpour accompanied by a series of impressive thunder claps.
It was such a special day, not only because it was our first meeting of the year and great to catch up with everyone after what seemed like an age, but it was our 19th AGM, officiated by Zone Councillor, Vonda Cannock, where we reflected on our club’s 2024 achievements and welcomed our 2025 committee who all pledged their allegiance to the club.
We welcomed four guests and were delighted to welcome four new members to our happy clan.

November 2024 Birthday Celebrations
Our 18th birthday theme this year was Going to the Races.
To provide a stunning backdrop, our Club’s decorating team, known as the VIXENS, transformed the veranda with colourful blooms, hats, fascinators and racing horses in full flight. With our member group of 75 fashionistas, all dressed in beautiful outfits and sipping cold bubbles, it felt a little like being at the exclusive ‘birdcage’ at Flemington.

November 2024 Birthday Lunch Meeting
As we munched on a delicious selection of shared savouries, Zone Councillor, Vonda, spoke about the formation of VIEW and our club and was followed by the announcement by Doreen and Jane that our Bunnings BBQ last Saturday made a whopping record profit of over $3,000. Accolades were given to the team who made it happen with special thanks to those fabulous co-ordinators, who worked long hours with them to pull it all together.
Accompanying photo shows the many Members and guests enjoying the day.

Celebrations All-Round
Ten year membership badges were presented to 5 of our Members present as well as a new Member badge to our latest fashionista.
Our Fashions on the Field had two prize-winning categories and the stage was filled with so many worthy competitors, who paraded and danced around to Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. Our esteemed judges selected five finalists for their best Hat/Fascinator category and Best Overall Outfit, and presented prizes to the very worthy recipients.
After a scrumptious lunch, our birthday cake which can be seen in the accompanying photo was cut by the November birthday Members and the winners of Fashions on the Field.

Twin Waters VIEW Cup 2024
Then began the Cup event! The official TWVC Cup race was held with a stable of eight noble steeds who were sponsored by our local businesses – the Loose Goose, Joanne Reilly Real Estate, Cock & Hen, Twin Waters Pharmacy and Lydia Kirn Real Estate.
The VIXENS had prepared a race track on each table and the jockeys from each table moved each horse to one of six markers on a roll of a dice. Table 1 were the winners with their filly ‘Pink Lady’ from the stable of Joanne Reilly Real Estate.

World Population Day in July 2024
This year, our July lunch meeting fell on World Population Day. It’s an annual event observed on July 11th each year and was established by the United Nations as a result of the massive interest in Five Billion Day in 1987. It focuses on the importance of population issues including family planning, gender equality, environmental impacts and human rights concerns.
To make the day even more special we had four guests and welcomed two new Members, Pauline and Liz to our happy clan. We welcome new members to our Club.
World Population Day
We had a bit of fun with allocated seating at tables representing each of the seven continents of the world. The tables had been decorated by our very creative VIXEN team members from their personal collections of travel memorabilia and the whole veranda was adorned with hundreds of bunting flags from around the world.
Doreen prepared a trivia quiz related to the theme, and we all failed miserably

July 2024 Guest Speaker
Guest speaker was Fiona Simpson MP, Member for Maroochydore, who addressed the theme, World Population, and spoke about the population increase on the Sunshine Coast from early days to present.
Fiona can be seen in the accompanying photo accepting a Thankyou card from our Club.

Celebrating St Patrick's Day 2024

March 2024 Guest Speaker
Our guest speaker Jacinta Lewis, from Queensland Rail Travel, gave a fabulous presentation showcasing a range of great holiday travel options including Coastal, Outback, Gulf Savannah and North and South West Queensland. We were spoilt for choice.

November 2023 Dancing Competition
Members and guests enjoyed a Mexican Hat dance competition, exhausting for those volunteers who took part, and a Jumping Jellybean game, followed by an attempted smashing of the traditional pinata, which proved far too resistant, despite a fair pummelling. Raffles and competitions were held throughout and a conga line danced and swayed to Mambo No 5 Maracas have never sounded so good.
All in all, it was a spectacular way to honour the past 17 years, and welcome the next.
