Learning for Life Partnership Agreement ​

I will:

1. help my child to attend school regularly and to arrive at school on time,
2. talk to my Family Partnership Coordinator if there are any challenges with my child's attendance at school and work towards improving my child's attendance.

What does this mean?

School attendance is important!

Children who attend school regularly are more likely to:

• do better at school and in their studies, which means that they are more likely to enjoy going to school.
• do well when they're older – e.g. getting a job and the kind of job they want.

The best part is that all children can improve their attendance and do better in school, which can make a big difference in their lives.

That’s why we ask you to agree to help your child or children attend school regularly.

If you are worried about your child or children’s attendance, contact your Family Partnership Coordinator. Together, you can help ensure your child or children attend school regularly.

When The Smith Family asks me, I will:

3. provide my child’s end of year school report,
4. complete the Student Profile with my child and provide it to The Smith Family, and
5. confirm my child’s Senior Secondary enrolment in Year 11 or 12 (if relevant).

What does this mean?

Every year, for each child on Learning for Life, we ask you to provide:

• the end of year School Report and
• Student Profile

End of Year School Report

You can upload your child's end-of-year school report to My Smith Family when you receive it.

Your child's School Report helps us learn about your child’s year and how we can best support them.

We look at the different sections of their Report. For example, school attendance, English and Maths results, and teachers' comments. We love celebrating your child's achievements – big or small!

If you are worried about your child's School Report, talk to your Family Partnership Coordinator. We will continue to support your family, regardless of the results.

Student Profile

Every year, we ask you to log in to My Smith Family and help your child or children complete their Student Profile.

The Student Profile is an update for your child's sponsor. It is a short list of questions for your child to answer about their:

• family and friends
• school
• hobbies

The Student Profile helps your child's sponsor get to know your child. Your child can choose what information they would like to share with their sponsor.

Year 11 and 12 students

If you have a child in Year 11 or 12, you will also need to confirm, via My Smith Family, that they are still enrolled in school or study.

What does this mean?

Learning for Life Partnership Agreement

Every three years, we’ll ask you to re-read and complete the Partnership Agreement to ensure you are still committed to these things.

Privacy Consent

We’ll also ask you to review and update your privacy consent.

‘Privacy consent’ is the agreement you give for The Smith Family to collect, use, and share your personal information and your child’s personal information.

I will:

8. use My Smith Family to update my contact and bank details if they change or call The Smith Family to update my details.

What does this mean?

If your contact or bank details have changed, it’s important that you update them as soon as possible in My Smith Family.

We need your current contact details to keep in touch about the Learning for Life program.

We also need your correct bank details so we can make your Learning for Life Scholarship payments.

I understand that:

• the Learning for Life Scholarship payments are to help with my child’s education expenses – I will keep my receipts for these expenses for two years (the current year and the previous year),
• I will always support the safety and well-being of children,
• my partnership with The Smith Family is based on:
  • respect for each other
  • taking responsibility for my actions, and
  • a commitment to helping my child do their best at school.

What does this mean?

The Scholarship money helps support your child's educational journey. You can use the money for school-related expenses like:

• uniforms
• excursions
• shoes
• stationery
• technology at home

We understand that education expenses are different for each family and can change over time depending on your child's school year level and your family's needs. You are the best person to decide how to manage those expenses.

Tip: Please keep your receipts for these expenses for 2 years (the current year and the previous year).
