Meet Our 2025 Committee
Members held the Annual General Meeting with several new Members joining the Committee.
National Councillor, Angie, was present to oversee proceedings and to congratulate Members while presenting their badges. Special mention was made of our Treasurer, Karen, who is serving her 10th year on the Committee. Karen, together with past President, Liz, was instrumental in commencing the Bunnings BBQs as a source of revenue when Covid prohibited us from organising our usual social fund-raising events. Five years on and Karen is still the driving force behind the BBQs which are now our principal source of income to fund our Learning for Life students.

Spring Luncheon in September 2024
Our Club celebrated the arrival of Spring with the annual Spring Luncheon on 5th September. Members and guests were welcomed by President, Margaret at Soldiers Point Bowling Club, a venue transformed by the artistic decoration of the tables with flowers and greenery. Margaret spoke of the ethos of VIEW and described how our club provided the funds to support 10 students through the Smith Family Learning for Life program.
Our guest speaker was Elly Gearing a Zoologist from Wildlife Matters. Elly spoke passionately about her work saving the endangered wildlife species of Australia and her talk was so professional and informative that her audience gave her full attention. She was rewarded with loud applause followed by many questions from the guests.
Lunch was served followed by the raffle and a very successful event came to a conclusion.

Yvonne 60 years membership Nelson Bay VIEW
The August meeting of Nelson Bay VIEW Club was a joyous occasion when Deputy Mayor, Leah Anderson, presented Yvonne Mackay with her 60 year membership pin.
Friend and fellow member, Pat Gibson, spoke of Yvonne’s positive attitude, sense of humour and active participation in Nelsons Bay VIEW Club and other local organizations.
One word would describe Yvonne, “inspirational.”
A large cake was cut and shared among members in celebration.

Bunnings BBQ's and Members Dedication Saves Our LfL Students
In 2020 our members generously made donations to enable us to provide for the ten students we support under the Learning for Life Program.
In 2021 we approached Bunnings and were fortunate to be able to secure several bookings for BBQs throughout the year. Our Treasurer, Karen, ably assisted by Vice President, Liz, has been the driving force behind the operation of these BBQs which have been very successful.
Last year the required funds were raised and the VIEW members who volunteered have many tales to tell of the trials and tribulations of working on the front line at a Bunnings BBQ. On one occasion half the marquee was blown away while on another an early shutdown was forced by torrential rain.
