Currently, the Club sponsors two Smith Family Learning for Life students and is actively involved in fundraising activities to raise donations for The Smith Family programs.
We are always open to new members, so please get in touch today and come and see what it's all about.

Meet Our 2024 Committee
Celebrating Christmas in November 2024
Entertainment, Lucky door, lucky seats, hampers and raffles to win. What a fabulous day for the many who supported by attending and kindly donating many items.
The entertainment was brilliant. Warraan Widji Arts children sang in the Wayilwan language and then in English. Nola recited A Bush Christening. A delicious meal, and quite simply, a perfect day out.

October 2024 Guest Speaker Bernie
Bernie, who was born in Ireland was our guest speaker in October.
Bernie recalled her growing up in Ireland during troubled times and the difficulties. Her parents owned an old-style Irish pub and general store.
Bernie went looking in the wider world for opportunities as she grew older landing in New York teaching and then on to Botswana, then finally Warren.

September 2024 Community Nurse Guest Speaker
Emma was our guest speaker this month and she was supported by Nurse Stephanie.
The message of how to maintain good health as we age, accessing agencies that can assist making home life easier, was a very important one for local members and their families.
Guest Speakers: Touring Vietnam Cambodia Visit
Audrey and Alex spoke of their holiday to Vietnam and Cambodia with friends earlier this year.
Many experiences included a motor scooter ride amongst very heavy traffic in Ho Chi Min city; markets; cooking lesson and incredible food; and a cruise.
The travellers then moved on to Cambodia visiting many historical sites. The Ladies found the people of both Countries very friendly and enjoyed their holiday very much.

July 2024 Librarian Guest Speaker
Carmen Anderson our guest speaker from the Warren Shire Library, spoke of the many and varied services our local library provides.
Although familiar with the library from an early age Carmen described what a learning curve it was for her behind the desk. North Western Library, comprises of Warren, Nyngan, Coonamble and Gilgandra, with the majority of loan items being processed by Warren staff.
Carmen, who can be seen in the photo with President Maria, values and enjoys her outreach visits to local schools and child care centres for story time and craft.

June 2024 Guest Speaker
June guest speaker was Mr Wes Hamilton, an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, who informed the Members of the importance of maintaining good health of strength and balance as we age. Also in winter months spending enough time in the Sun for vitamin D. Lots of good advice for Members to take away. The United Services Club once again provided a great atmosphere, and meal.

May 2024 Outing to Cobar
Our Club visited Cobar in May for their 41st Birthday celebrations. Zone Councillor NH03 area, Lorraine, and Warren Treasurer Pauline travelled to Cobar for the day, enjoying the celebrations held at the Empire Hotel.
Members and guests enjoyed a delicious two course meal in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere. The birthday cake was cut by long time Cobar Member, Jean, assisted by new Member Bel. A wonderful day out.
Astro-photographer in April 2024
Our Guest Speaker was local Astro-photographer Mr Ralph Smith.
Ralph's interest in astronomy began at a very young age. He built his first telescope as a teenager, and captured and processed his own images. His main focus today is Solar imaging and night sky objects. A very informative session.

St Patrick's Day 2024 Celebrated
As this was our March meeting, Members took the opportunity to celebrate Easter, as well as St. Patrick's Day by dressing for the occasion. Birthday lady, Sally, enjoyed an extra celebration.
Easter Raffle, being a basket of chocolates was donated by Mary, with Lorraine being the lucky winner. Lucky Door prize won by new member, Kim.
March 2024 Guest Speaker
Our Guest Speaker was Rosie Turnbull, from Rosie's Boutique Condiments, who spoke about her growing business. The early days to now, and how Buy from the Bush helped her promote online shopping.
It all began with a recipe used by her mother. A wonderful presentation.

New Members Welcomed in March
A warm welcome was given to Kim, Mel and Aleta, our three new Members in March.
Thank you Lorraine
Ex President, now Zone Councillor, Lorraine was presented with flowers and a gift in appreciation of her role as President for the last three years. The Members also wished Lorraine well in her role as Zone Councillor for the NH03 area. .
