About
Currently, the Club sponsors eight Smith Family Learning for Life students and is actively involved in fundraising activities to raise donations for The Smith Family programs.
We are always open to new members, so please get in touch today and come and see what it's all about.
Our function room is at the very centrally located Buderim Tavern. At our luncheon meetings we always have interesting guest speakers. New members are very welcome. Attending our club’s events will help raise funds for educating students of underprivileged families.
On the third Wednesday each month we have a social activity/outing.

Meet Our 2024 Committee
Our Club's Annual General Meeting which includes the election of our new committee who can be seen in the accompanying photo, was held on Wednesday 7th February 2024.
The next monthly meeting and lunch will be held on Wednesday 6th March 2024.
September 2024 Guest Speaker
Guest Speaker Dr Zoe West, is a research fellow at QCGC, focusing on biomarker identification in vulvar cancer. She completed her PhD in Immunology at Queensland University of Technology in 2021, followed by a Postdoctoral fellowship at Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden.
While at Karolinska Institutet Zoe focused on utilising cutting-edge 3D imaging to investigate markers associated with non-Hodgkin’s and Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Using this knowledge, she will be using 3D imaging to investigate 3D patterns of vulvar cancer, with a specific focus on cancer relapse.

“Making a Difference Award”
Sylvia received the Buderim VIEW Club “Making a Difference Award”.
Over 20 years, Sylvia has been a committed member of our VIEW CLUB.
She has served 3-year terms on committee as Assistant Treasurer, Secretary, Delegate and President. She is currently involved in her fourth year organising the bi-monthly club raffles.
Members congratulated her for the passion and dedication she shows towards supporting young people with their education for a better future .
Sylvia’s name will be added to the Honour Roll at VIEW National Convention, Brisbane in 2025.
STEMM Guest Speaker August 2024
Our Club has been supporting this excellent STEMM Program, which was founded by Jacquie. STEMM stands for Supporting Teenagers with Education, Mothering and Mentoring.
The multi-award winning program supports pregnant girls and young mothers in a safe, non-judgmental environment with individual support plans developed by trained case managers, and is the first program of its kind in Queensland. Development of a unique, stand-alone curriculum enables pregnant girls and young mothers to be supported in achieving their educational goals. By Educating a Mother, You Educate a Family

Non-perishable goods donated to STEMM in 2024
Club Members bring along non-perishable items and/or toiletries for the young mothers, once a year, which can be seen in the accompanying photo.

Members and guests were delighted to have Ramon, as our Guest Speaker. Ramon, is a former Learning for Life student and represented The Smith Family, and is now in training to be a Pilot.

Buderim Volunteer Awards 2023
As well Jenny, one of our members, earned the honour of Volunteer of the Year 2023 for her many years on committee.
October 2023 Fashions
Our planning committee put on a very successful fashion parade in October. Friends Boutique of Buderim provided the fashions and generously donated their time, expertise and a voucher to add to the many raffle prizes.
Seventy women attended the high tea and parade held in the Function Room at the Buderim Tavern. It was an enjoyable afternoon and a great boost to the sponsorships of our eight Learning For Life students through The Smith Family charity.
