About
Currently, the Club sponsors nine Smith Family Learning for Life students and is actively involved in fundraising activities to raise donations for The Smith Family programs.
Our Club offers fun and friendship and offers a wide variety of events and activities for our members, helping to raise funds for our students. These include monthly guest speakers, scrabble groups, book club, knitting group, monthly morning teas, day outings and a bi annual weekend away.
We are always open to new members and look forward to introducing you to our Club and all VIEW has to offer so please give Judy a call, and have chat to find out more.

Meet Our 2024 Committee
November 2024 Guest Speaker
Guest Speaker Darren Arnott, (who can be seen in the accompanying photo,) Author of No Regard for the Truth was a speaker that kept the Members interested from the word go.
Who would have thought that we in Victoria had an Italian POW internment camp in Melbourne's outer suburb of Rowville. No Regard for the Truth: Friendship and kindness. tragedy and injustice. Read the book to find out more............................
November 2024 Theatre Outing
Twenty-seven Members had a wonderful time enjoying Sister Act at the Regent Theatre, featuring Casey Donovan as the lead with a wonderful cast; they were all fabulous.
A great day was had by all.
Outing in October 2024
Twelve Members recently had a wonderful outing to Her Majesty's Theatre to enjoy Beauty And The Beast. Everybody enjoyed the show and left the Theatre with a huge smile on their faces.
A lovely way to spend an afternoon.
August 2024 Guest Speaker
Guest speaker Dr. Paul Powell OAM spoke on DNA and Genealogy - his personal journey. It was a fascinating story and enjoyed by all who attended.

July 2024 Guest Speaker
Our July guest speaker was Michelle Kerr from Eden. Michelle presented a moving message about the devastating scale of human trafficking in our world today and the vital role we can all play in remaining hopeful and contributing to positive change.
Michelle explained how we can support Eden and its Myanmar based, anti-trafficking work is by purchasing the beautiful jewellery pieces which have been designed and handcrafted by survivors of human trafficking and exploitation whilst within Eden's care.
Michelle had some beautiful jewellery made by these survivors which the Members were able to purchase after our Dinner meeting.
Celebrating 31st Birthday in June 2024
Members and guests helped celebrate our 31st Birthday. The magnificent cake as can be seen in the accompanying photo, was cut by our President, Zone Councillor and two new members before being distributed to members to enjoy.
A lovely night was had by all with lots of social chat and an inspirational talk by one of our members Eleni, who does wonderful work in the community.
Outing to Sunset Boulevard
Twenty Members enjoyed heading to Melbourne to see Sunset Boulevard. We all enjoyed a light lunch in a cafe before we headed off to the Theatre.
A very enjoyable show and outing.
Inspirational Guest Speaker in May 2024
Guest speak Carolyn Pethick, a retired police officer spoke about sex discrimination in the Police Force.
Carolyn served for over 30 years with the Victorian Police Force. It was a job she loved but during that 30 years she was continually bullied and discriminated against for being female, and sexually harassed on several occasions.
Carolyn has written a book To Hell and Back - A Policewoman's Story A truly inspirational speaker.

Queen Rocks: Don't Stop me Now Tour
Thirty six members and partners enjoyed a meal together at the Commercial Hotel, South Morang before heading to the Plenty Rangers Art Centre to experience Queen Rocks a definitive tribute to the Queen Stage Show. Queen Rocks performed all of Queen's iconic hits.
We all very much enjoyed this fabulous night out.

BBC Earth Experience
Twenty ladies and partners had a wonderful day outing to enjoy the fabulous David Attenborough narrated BBC Earth Experience, featuring Seven Worlds, One Planet.

April 2024 Man From Snowy River Tour
Man From Snowy River Tour for 5 days and 4 nights.
Members enjoyed many various activities and events ranging from a visit to The Ettamogah Pub, a visit to the Licorice and Chocolate Factory, the House of Monte Christo and a highlight, The Man from Snowy River Bush Festival held in Corryong. So many more events were enjoyed on this wonderful trip.
April 2024 Guest Speaker
Guest speaker for April was Jill Hauser, who spoke about The three P's - Politics, Poverty and Prostitutes and kept the ladies interested with a wonderful slideshow and stories of Melbourne from years gone by.

Interesting Outing in April 2024
Twenty-three Members enjoyed a tour of Pentridge H Division on a beautiful sunny Melbourne morning. Many shared a coffee or lunch. A great morning was had by all.

Wonderful Guest Speaker Lex De Man
Guest Speaker Lex De Man spoke about Anne-Hamilton Byrne - Cult Leader of The Family.
Anne-Hamilton Byrne was the evil leader of The Family, an apocalyptic cult with about 500 followers and more than 28 children. Some were the children of cult members, others were newborns that came from unwed mothers tricked into thinking their babies were going to good homes, a few were out and out stolen.
Not a sound was heard from the Members as they sat listening to the most wonderful guest speaker who dedicated years of his life to bring this evil woman to justice.
February 2024 Guest Speaker
Vicki Key, a retired Police Officer was a very inspirational speaker. Members could not believe the talents, energy and commitment that Vicki has to life!
Vicki spent the majority of her career investigating sexual assault against children and adults and physical assault against children. She retired in 2010 and in 2012 Vicki founded the Retired Police Peer Support Office Program which assists retired uniformed members who may be experiencing difficulties with their mental health.
Vicki was honoured and proud to receive The Order of Australia Medal for her dedication in the police force and her work in supporting retired police officers. A huge honour and very much deserved.
