2019 May VA01 Silo Art Work

Eighteen members from three VA01 VIEW Clubs, Heidelberg, Banyule and Plenty Valley headed off together to the magnificent Mallee-Wimmera area of Victoria.

The main focus of the trip was to view the amazing silo art that has been created over the past three or so years and which has brought much needed tourist income to country towns. Rupunyup, Lascelles, Sheep Hills, Brim, Rosebury and Patchewollock all display silo artwork that is so emblematic of the people and countryside. All were different, all were stunning.

We also visited attractions such as the Ararat J Ward, Stawell Gift Hall of Fame, two heritage museums and a historic 1909 homestead at Rainbow.

We all learnt so much about this corner of our state, shared many experiences and thoroughly enjoyed each other’s company both during the day and over dinner and a wine in the evenings.

The trip was also successful in extending and creating bonds of friendship between clubs. Like-minded women having fun, extending their interests and learning so much. Certainly what VIEW is all about!

The pic shows the whole group in front of the spectacular silos at Sheep Hills.
