Thursday 13th March Members met for our monthly meeting and welcomed Gabrielle Leigh from the Story Dogs Program. 

Gabrielle, who can be seen in the accompanying photo, explained about her role as coordinator of this reading program at Dromana, Rye, Rosebud and Sorrento schools. Gabrielle supports Boneo Primary School with her Labrador retriever ‘Tassie’

Tuesday 11th March a group of our Members met at The Hideout Rosebud for the twice monthly Connect@Coffee gatherings.

As usual we celebrated the birthdays for our February birthday Members, who can be seen in the photo. 

Tuesday 18th February a group of our Members travelled to Phillip Island by ferry and enjoyed a social lunch at the Cowes Hotel.

Thursday 9th January our Club held our annual January lunch in lieu of a general meeting at the Pig & Whistle Tavern in Main Ridge. 

As can be seen by the accompanying photo, we once again took over a large section of the restaurant with more than 35 Members in attendance.

Thursday 14th November our monthly meeting became a giant trading table fundraising bonanza. 

Consisting of Christmas themed food/decorations, plants, books, hand crafts, jewellery, scarves, accessories and wonderful baked goods. 

This trading table was the first time this type of activity had been undertaken by the club with more than $2,800 raised for The Smith Family.

Thursday 24th October our Club held the annual garden party fundraiser with a flower in your hair theme. 

Treasurer Vicky opened her beautiful home and garden for the occasion.  

Almost $1,900 was raised for The Smith Family from the day a great effort once again.

Thursday 12th September our monthly meeting speaker was Simran Kaur representing Elder Rights Advocacy. 

Simran, who can be seen on the accompanying photo, spoke about the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme.

On Tuesday 17th September a group of Members that can be seen in the accompanying photo, visited the Dandenong Market for a tour. 

Many coming home with some great goodies.

On Friday 20th September the monthly soiree was held at the home of Delwyn (one of our fantastic Program Officers).

On Monday 23rd September our roaming coffee group met at Nordie Café in beautiful Red Hill.

Friday 30th August, a group of Southern Peninsula VIEW members, attended a social lunch at Pig & Whistle tavern in Main Ridge.

Great day of friendship at the end of winter.

Friday 16th August, Southern Peninsula VIEW joined with Hastings and Mornington VIEW clubs for the annual combined clubs’ lunch.

This year it was held at the Westernport Hotel in Hastings.

A great turn out with many happy raffle winners.

Members met at our usual location Eagle Ridge Golf Club for the July monthly meeting. Our guest speaker was Christine Dineen who spoke about the Wonders of French Island and the visitors book she has written about the island.

AVEO Fundraiser was held on Friday 26th July, and a group of our Members, with some partners, attended a presentation at AVEO Beachside Gardens Retirement Living Safety following which AVEO generously contributed a donation to the club.

Our regular Connect@Coffee  where Members got together at The Kitchen Tootgarook for a winter connect at coffee.

Members got together for the monthly girls night out, this time at Jetty Road Brewery.  A great location for a winter warm up.

As can be seen by the accompanying photo, this is a popular function that is well attended.

On Thursday 13th June our Club's monthly meeting welcomed National Councillor Rosemary. The day was celebrated with a badge presentation for 10 new members.

Friday 21st June our monthly soiree was held at Member Jane's home. Lots of laughs and fun all round.

On Sunday 16th June Members held our annual sausage sizzle at Bunnings Rosebud which was a great success.

Friday 7th June Members attended a lovely early winter lunch at the Epicurean restaurant in Red Hill.

Roaring wood fires, great food, wine and wonderful conversation.

Monday 24th June our regular Connect@Coffee was held at Hobsons Cafe Capel Sound.

Our Club was thrilled when on 19th April 2024, Member Elaine Wallbridge was awarded an Order of Australia Medal, by the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC at Government House, for her lifetime of community service.

This is a well-deserved recognition of Elaine’s decades of dedication to Girl Guides, a local police senior citizens’ register to support and help ease the concerns of elderly residents about crime, and a fashion-based charity which raised more than $300,000 for Victorian community groups.

Members met at Eagle Ridge Golf Club for the monthly meeting. Pictured is Andrea McCall who spoke about her lifelong interest in Agatha Christie.

Andrea is presenting The Clocks a novel by Agatha Christie to one of our club members.

Members got together for the monthly Girls Night Out which was held at Peninsula Club Dromana where fun was had by all.

Members visited Studio & Co (Moorooduc) for a glass blowing demonstration and a wander around the wonderful studios, the retail shops and of course lunch in the café.

We would absolutely recommend a visit if you get the chance.
