  Our work engages Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in learning through education, life skills and role models, promoting culturally responsive practice.

The 2020 Creative Showcase

The Creative Showcase is a chance for your child/ren to get creative and win one of our great prizes. It is open to all current Learning for Life students.

Students can choose to submit a piece of art and/or writing based on the theme, If I could travel anywhere in the universe I would travel to... (this place can be real or imaginary).

For a chance to win, please upload all entries to My Smith Family by the 30th of November.

Introducing the 2020 Creative Showcase

Theme

Prizes

Prizes range in value from $20 to $100 with lots of participation prizes up for grabs! Your child/ren could win a gift voucher just by entering.

Prizes will be awarded to each age group below

Prize winners will be notified by February 2021.

For all entries we receive, we will also send a copy of the entry to your sponsor(s). They love receiving this.

How to enter

Your child/ren can let their imagination run wild and use your own paper, craft and materials from around the house to create a piece of art of writing! They can choose to enter a piece of art, writing or both based on this year’s theme.

Once complete, please submit entries by uploading them under the MY DOCUMENTS section in My Smith Family.

To submit art entries – please scan or take a photo
To submit writing entries – please take a photo or use a typed version that you have saved

So we can see just how good the entry is, it’s important to upload the best image possible.

If you are taking a photo of your piece, please make sure:

• It is in bright, natural light
• It is laying on a flat surface (e.g. a table or the floor)
• It doesn't have any shadows over the photo
• The photo is not blurry

How to upload your entry

To upload the entry please follow these steps:

• Login to My Smith Family
• Go to MY DOCUMENTS
• Click on 'Upload a Document'
• Choose the child who is entering
• Choose either Art - Creative Showcase or Writing - Creative Showcase depending on what type of entry it is
• Follow the prompts then click FINISH when you're done

Once the entry is successfully uploaded, you will see a message that lets you know.

Here are a few things that we ask your child/ren not to include in their entry:

Private information such as your last name, home address or town/city
School name
Anything that may easily identify them or you, your privacy and safety is very important to us

Terms and Conditions for entry

The Creative Showcase is only open to current Learning for Life students only
Winners will be notified by the end of February 2021 and receive full details about their prize
The judging panel is made up of supporters of The Smith Family
The panel’s decisions are final and the awarding of prizes is at their sole discretion
All entries sent to The Smith Family in response to this competition will become the property of The Smith Family and may be used in promotions or publications at the discretion of The Smith Family
Your entry must be entirely your own work; copies or extracts of other written pieces will not be accepted
There are four age categories for drawing and writing: Years K-3, Years 4- 6, Years 7- 9, Year 10- 12
The age category winners will receive a prize valued at $100 and in each category four runners up will receive a prize valued at $50. Participation prizes valued at $20 will be selected at random.
