VIEW reaches major milestone of sponsoring 1000 disadvantaged students

VIEW Clubs of Australia is celebrating reaching their goal of sponsoring 1,000 Learning for Life students - a significant achievement and a milestone in the history of the relationship between VIEW and The Smith Family. VIEW is proud to now be The Smith Family's single biggest sponsor of disadvantaged Australian students.

VIEW stands for, Voice, Interests and Education of Women and the work of members in local communities aligns with and strengthens the impact of The Smith Family in helping young Australians in need to get the most out of their education.

Through fundraising and volunteering efforts VIEW members have given over 1,000 disadvantaged young people the opportunity to fully participate in their education and be able to engage in school activities, particularly extracurricular activities and to take on subjects that carry additional costs.

VIEW National President, Lorraine Montgomery said that she is really proud as the National President to be leading an amazing organisation at this time and reaching this milestone of sponsoring 1,000 students.

"VIEW members like a challenge and VIEW Clubs nationally, have contributed to reaching the 1,000 student milestone," she said. "But we are not going to rest on our laurels we are going to continue to sponsor more students, because we know just what a difference the Learning for Life sponsorship makes to children by providing long term support for the participation in education."

"We know from feedback that families of these students are touched by knowing that someone out there cares about them, their education and their future. Sponsorship is an invaluable gift, it is life-changing," Lorraine added.
