Data for Purpose
We absolutely want to know that we're making a difference and to use data to then improve what we do, so that ultimately, children and families benefit.
At The Smith Family our work is evidence informed and outcomes focused to ensure our educational support programs can best assist the children and families we support.
Using data for purpose is a key advocacy priority in our latest five year strategy as we work together with the wider community and the research sector to generate positive social change.
“I think the opportunity for data and data sharing in ways that respect families' privacy but really focuses on how we can use data to improve outcomes for children and families and across the human services sector is really enormous,” says Anne Hampshire, our Head of Research and Advocacy.
“If we focus on that common purpose of, how can we use data best to inform what people do, how we track progress, then things like data exchange initiatives actually could be one of the key pieces to actually shifting the big gap that we currently see in educational outcomes.”
Anne Hampshire joined our CEO, Doug Taylor, to talk about the potential of data for purpose in reducing educational inequality.
