Our Centenary Champions
Our Centenary Champions
At The Smith Family, we’re delighted to have Wendy Harmer and Today’s Brooke Boney on board as Centenary Champions, to help us celebrate a century of creating better futures for children in need.
Wendy Harmer
Wendy Harmer is a celebrated Australian journalist, author, broadcaster, and comedian. A long-time supporter of The Smith Family and its work, and a Learning for Life child sponsor herself, Wendy is a passionate about ensuring all children have a chance to fulfil their potential through education.
Wendy says: “I’m so pleased to be a Centenary Champion for The Smith Family.
“My late father once said to me of his 45 years as a country teacher and headmaster ‘I have had the luckiest of lives. To spend my time in the company of children, all hungry to learn - to see their minds spark with excitement when they understood a lesson? It has been the greatest gift.’
In honour of my clever, dedicated father who was a wonderful teacher who loved kids and knew what education could achieve in their lives, I’m proud to honour his legacy.”
