Over 50 corporate executives take on Jervis Bay wilderness to help disadvantaged children

More than 50 corporate executives are preparing to put their fitness to the test to conquer the Southern NSW coast and raise $350,000 for disadvantaged Australian children. Over two grueling days (7-8th March) they will hike, bike and row across 100 kilometres of Australia's least forgiving terrain.

The Smith Family Board Director and co-founder of The Smith Family Challenge, Paul Tobin, said interest in the event has taken-off since he and two mates first started the Challenge by climbing three volcanoes in New Zealand in 2008 to fundraise for The Smith Family. 

“The idea behind the Challenge is that ordinary people can do extraordinary things when it comes to helping young Australians.  The Challenge is an opportunity for us to raise much-needed funds to help children in need to build better futures for themselves by providing long term support for their education.”

“Everyone taking part in the challenge is preparing for a grueling physical and mental test across 100kms of wild terrain around the Jervis Bay area. There will be a healthy dose of competition and comradery amongst us competing in the challenge but ultimately it’s our commitment to help disadvantaged children that will motivate us to cross the finish line,” said Tobin.
