Acting Chief Executive Officer for The Smith Family

The Board of The Smith Family announced today the appointment of Judy Barraclough as Acting CEO of The Smith Family, effective 12 March 2021 whilst the Board continues the process around a permanent appointment to the role of CEO.

Judy Barraclough has been with The Smith Family for six years and as Head of Strategy and Philanthropy has been instrumental in the development of The Smith Family’s strategic direction and overseeing significant growth in its philanthropy funding streams.

Chair of The Smith Family, Nicholas Moore said: “The Board is delighted that a person of Judy’s calibre has agreed to take over this role. Before joining The Smith Family, Judy held executive roles in large corporations, as well as board directorships and consulting to both not-for-profit and commercial organisations.”

“The Board would also like to offer its sincere appreciation and grateful thanks to our CEO, Dr Lisa O’Brien, for her immense contributions in the decade she has led our organisation,” added Mr Moore.

“Lisa has been utterly tireless in her efforts to build and maintain The Smith Family as a strong organisation and her focus has positively influenced the lives of many thousands of young Australians. The Board wishes Lisa all the best as she takes up her appointment next month as Chair of the newly-established Australian Education Research Organisation.”
