Challenge yourself for Australian Children in need

In October 2019, Will challenged himself for Australian children in need and raised $1,524 in doing so. He did his own Sober October and what an amazing outcome he saw!

Will’s Sober October initiative was inspired by his wife, Alicia, who is a Primary School Teacher and AP. He thought that seeing her come home with stories of kids that are having a rough time, through no fault of their own, inspired him to help in some way. Will would see his wife taking extra food and school supplies to help children and he wanted to do more.

Will, having had a great childhood himself and having all the resources he needed for school and sport saw a contrast in the lives of others who might not be as lucky.
After some research on different charities I thought The Smith Family was the right pick and this was the perfect way to give back to those in need.

And giving up alcohol for the month of October was the perfect challenge!

Will was amazed by the support and admiration from his family and friends, who supported him and donated to his challenge along the way. Not only did he raise $1,524 to help Australians in need succeed at school, but he saw extra benefits from saving money and seeing his physical and mental health improve as well.

If you’ve thought about challenging yourself, you can register your own fundraiser here. Take Will’s advice, it’s worth it!
Challenge yourself, it's a great thing to do! You’ll be surprised by the amazing support from your friends and family, the kind words and donations make it all worth it. Not to mention the added benefits of saving some cash and feeling better physically and mentally and making a difference to the lives of children in need.
