Our work engages Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in learning through education, life skills and role models, promoting culturally responsive practice.
Our learning support and mentoring programs in 90 Australian communities directly help children in need achieve their goals through education.
Making small, regular donations to The Smith Family through Workplace Giving is an easy way to help change the lives of young Australians living in poverty.
Seeing a spark of hope in a child’s eyes. Hearing the passion in their voices when they talk of a brighter future. It's a truly wonderful thing.
Your support has helped many Australian children and young people to overcome educational inequality caused by poverty. It's also given them hope for a brighter future.
Watch our heart-warming video of thanks from some of the children we support.
Here is what the kids who have been supported by The Smith Family have to say:
Phoebe: When I grow up I want to be a psychologist because I like to help people.
Bobby: Having that that hope is what pushes myself and my siblings to continue to Achieve, and achieve every day. It's those simple things like a backpack, school uniform etc. It's unbelievable what a proper pair of shoes does for the individual.
Talyah: I'm in the Learning for Life program. I like writing because I can make up stories sometimes and that's fun.
Matthew: When I leave school I'd like to attend University and be something in the medical area
Kaythlyn, Isabella, Declan: Thank you so much to The Smith Family for your ongoing support
